A Good Fun Ride.

I'll be always a super-hero fan. I didn't read all the comics of them but watched cartoons of every other super-hero, I didn't read comics but I'm eagerly waiting for their movies to release. Reading everything about them on net & checking out their youtube videos. Sometimes, I also think of becoming a hero & saving the world from injustice & crime, what would happen if I start doing this? This is what the protagonist of this movie do.

The story starts with our hero Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) living a normal life like all human being. College going boy & friends with nerds like him. No girlfriends & no popularity in school. Wanted to do something in life, he starts out thinking the way super-hero do. Orders costume from shopping site & name himself 'Kick-Ass'. He starts taking law in his hands & his first confrontation with local thugs proves very costly to him. Our super-hero doesn't have super-powers but he also doesn't have super capabilities like fighting.

Meanwhile, we see that along with him there are other super-heroes also in the locality. Damon Macready / Big Daddy (Nicola Cage) is taking his vengeance on Frank D'Amico ( Mark Strong) for getting him framed. He brought up his little child Mindy Macready / Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) training her as a skilled crime-fighter. One eventful night, they rescue Kick-Ass from a goon who used to harass his long time crush Katie (Lyndsy Fonseca). Then we see Christopher Mintz, a rich spoilt brat of Frank D'Amico who plays another superhero just to get some inside information from 'Kick-Ass'. Thereafter, they (Kick-Ass & Hit Girl) team up to fight against Frank D'Amico.

Last film I saw of Aaron-Taylor-Johnson was Savages, where he didn't get much screen space but he was perfect in what he was doing. Here, he was the perfect nerd-guy who at times was looking too cute & gay but he played this character beautifully where you'll feel pity for him. Yes, little bit overacting you can say.

Overall, the film in the end went little over the board in action. Though, it could have been better if they've stayed the way it was going. The humor was also good. You'll crack some laugh & the violence gets little graphic. But like I said, it was a good fun ride. The story is fast paced.

Chloe Grace Moretz (Hit Girl) was the star of this film. The last time I saw a little girl kicking the butt was Natalie Portman in Leon: The Professional. Chloe was simply superb. She played this character with skillfully & you'll also find that little cuteness in her. Yes, but at times a 11yr old is shooting & using obscene language may not go well with some but somehow I thought this is what the script demanded. She is the future of Hollywood.

Nicolas Cage was good. Since, I saw his last movie, this is the movie where he perfectly acted & the character also suited to him well. Christopher Mintz-Plasse was perfect. I think he'll essay any character perfectly without doing too much over-acting. Lyndsy Fonseca was fine. Frank D'Amico was great. The other supporting cast also plays their character perfectly.
