Review of Kick-Ass (2010) by Leonard E — 21 Jul 2014
I think I may have subconsciously stayed away from this movie for the sole reason that I couldn't pronounce the title what with my 20+ year ongoing vow to avoid cursing. That said, this movie was much more entertaining than I expected.
Sure, they marginalized Evan Peters, who has certainly turned out to be a better actor than Aaron Johnson, but overall the thing works. Finally a realistic view that super heroes would have to get their hands dirty to last more than 5 minutes.
It's funny, and very obviously styled after Spider Man. Grade B.
