Review of Kick-Ass 2 (2013) by Jared T — 01 Feb 2014

It was a pretty good movie, nothing was amazing but it did what it was supposed to...entertain. It falls short of achieving the what the original did, but as a sequel it comes off well. It feels as though it just lags without "Hit Girl". The other heroes are fun, but it falls short of anything compelling without her...and the final battle, while fun, was no playground.

This movie kind of just...happens. It keeps happening until it ends. You'll laugh a few times, you'll be grossed out a couple more times and you'll stick around to the end...but it never kicks it into second gear. It isn't because they don't try, it just doesn't feel special.
