Review of Kick-Ass 2 (2013) by Gaspar O — 19 Mar 2014
Sometimes, all you can ask from a film is to pleasure you visually and aurally (See what I did there?) and this did that and then some. I was expecting this to be mediocre at best, suffering from the same sequel syndrome as a lot of other part twos.
This was exceptional. Jim Carrey didn't look or sound like Jim Carrey, which was unusual and a nice surprise, and McLovin shined like an evil, perverted little angel on the top of your Christmas tree decorated with blood and the souls of serial killers.
Sweet sigh. Plus a half star for the SIC Stick that almost got me right through the TV from laughing so hard. On the other hand, boooooooo for the tired old "whaaaa I can't be a super hero anymore because I'm a douche" plotline.
That got old after, well, immediately! Nevertheless, this is a fun and fantastic way to spend a couple hours.
