Review of Kick-Ass 2 (2013) by Ben E — 10 Apr 2014
A very worthy sequel. Obviously not the sort of film the professional critics will like, but just as loud, just as juvenile, just as funny, but oddly for a comedy sequel of this type it is darker, the characters do suffer consequences and there is a message (of sorts) about being the outcast versus Doig the right thing and fitting in.
The action is faster and more hard hitting, and even Jim Carrey gets his punches in, although I must confess I didn't immediately recognise him. A much better film than the critics tomato-meter would have you believe.
If you liked the first one, watch this one.
