Review of Kick-Ass 2 (2013) by Chris C — 01 Aug 2014

This wasn't THAT bad, but it wasn't that great either. I was expecting it to be as unwatchable as "Super," and really, it wasn't. But it was nowhere near as solid as the 1st film.

Kick-Ass 2 is a bit of a letdown since I was expecting a much different approach in how they were going to adapt the comic, but overall it's just passable. There were some things that really annoyed me, though: the "Mean Girls" crap was borderline cringeworthy, some directions they took a few characters in felt cheap, and the writing was hit or miss throughout.

But as a whole, I THINK I enjoyed it for the most part? Jim Carrey's good, and it's about as colorful as the first movie. It really isn't as horrible as the critics say, but since this was one if my most anticipated movies of 2913, it's still pretty underwhelming.
