Review of Key Largo (1948) by Kyle A — 16 Oct 2010
Everything about this movie is great! You can't go wrong with Bogart and Bacall, but this movie shines because the rest of the cast is right up to snuff with the two film legends. A lot of their success is dependent on the script, which lays the groundwork for intensely different characters.
The script adds to that by placing them into a setting where tensions run deep. And of course you can't talk about "Key Largo" without mentioning John Huston, who catches the unfolding drama carefully within each shot.
Loved every moment of it!
