Review of Kes (1970) by Shataroop D — 07 Dec 2011
Brilliant coming of age classic with thick Yorkshire accents. Captures a snapshot of mining community and the few opportunities before people. Bullied young Billy finds his only inspiration in falconry.
An extremely beautiful and patient directing style really makes you immerse in Billy's world and feel the deep sadness and brutal reality of life and death.
