Finally got around to seeing this after all these years, and mostly wish I hadn't. It starts off grim, lightens up very briefly with a bit of football and a blunt poke at the education system, before a rather obvious and miserable ending, all the while scrambled in some mumbled dialect of Northernness.
Unpleasant.
