Review of Kelly's Heroes (1970) by Jeff H — 31 May 2012
Part horror of war, part psychological intrigue, with characters who are true to themselves and, I fear, an element of reality in the shananigans that happen in a war zone. I think the real award should go to casting.
...they got the exact right actor for each character. Very worth watching, although it does bog down in places....a fault of the editor, not the cast or the story line, per se. Carroll O'Connor as General Colt is FANTASTIC.
As is Sutherland and Margolin. The blooper reels from this movie would be a HOOT -- you know they were interrupted with many a belly laugh.
