Review of Keith Lemon: The Film (2012) by Gary S — 12 Dec 2012
Keith Lemon is amazing in Celebrity Juice, and I love that show even though I'm not from the UK and quite often I don't know the celebrities he's mindfucking, it's just an unpredictable, vulgar, fun ride.
Keith Lemon: The Film is something totally different. It's Keith but in a different context, he's still Keith but he's not a TV show host, there is no element of breaking censorship boundaries and making celebrities feel embarrassed, so it's a neutered version of what Keith Lemon is usually like.
The story is simple, but the main problem is it's also very, very lazy, predictable in the worst way, and a chore to watch, especially if you were expecting a Celeb Juice level of entertainment. Money has been spent on making this film, money that could have been used for a good cause.
A better movie could have been made even if Lemon (or Leigh Francis, if you insist) accepted stories submitted by fans. So, keep watching Celebrity Juice and avoid Keith Lemon: The Movie, because it is so bad it will make you feel sad.
