Peter Schlönske is a big fan of the weekly TV-Show "Wittiness Knows No Limits". The host of that show, Heinz Wäscher, is his big idol. He admires him and he wants to be like him. Peter lives with his mother and his grandparents, works in his mother's shop, but dreams of an exciting life in the media scene.

It seems like his big chance has come, when he joins a talent-show. The winner will be part of "Wittiness Knows No Limits". But Peter fails. He just gets a job as a temporary worker. He meets his idol, the great Heinz Wäscher, and learns soon, that he is only a choleric misanthrop. Heinz screws up every show, and other people get punished for it. It is not all gold, that glitters, and Peter gets desillusioned. He works against the system, tries to change things, succeeds, and becomes a famous show-host himself! But will he be able to resist all the little temptations of showbiz? Or will he end up as a perfect copy of the invidious Heinz Wäscher?

This media satire is one of the best satires I shave ever seen. Every little moment, every detail is polished and hilariously funny! Hape Kerkeling is always a guarantee for a witty, intelligent and absolutely delightful movie.
