Review of Keeping Up with the Joneses (2016) by Brendan N — 26 Jun 2017

I think the disappointing part of this film is the poor effort by the filmmaker who has crafted great previous films. The story was there for the making, the cast are very talented and you only had to look at the talented director to suspect a slam dunk.

The film is a giant mess of actors either attempting to create humour or the humour wasn't there to begin with. This is your typical mid range studio misfire and you can feel this needed to be a r rating to actually be funny.

I don't know who this film was marketed to but it missed on all fronts, I'm assuming the actors were well paid as nothing seems worthwhile. I like Hamm, Gadot and Fisher but I couldn't like this film at all, they were wasted with only a few very mild laughs along the way.

There are better comedies out there so I would avoid this unfunny studio offering. 27-06-2017.
