Review of Keeping the Faith (2000) by Phil N — 07 Jul 2009
A lovely story which moves along at a good pace and keeps you engaged throughout. It is an original plot which packs in a few surprises as well as genuine laughs.
Edward Norton narrates the story as well as starring in it, and this is a really effective method. We see him at the beginning telling the tale of what has happened up to that point. I thought this was a compelling technique.
Although Ben Stiller plays his role very well, the star for me was Edward Norton. That girl was crazy for not choosing him! Seriously though, he portrayed his character so well. To think, this is the same actor who was so convincing in his role of Derek Vinyard in American History X. Talk about a polarisation of characters... I guess that's the mark of a marvelous actor. :).
