It is about people on the autism spectrum and other forms of personality disorders.
David who loves making inappropriate jokes meets Sara at a support group meeting. Sara is a very outgoing person who communicates mostly with a set of cliches, and that ticks David off. Initially.
The movie looks and feels authentic and honest, sometimes even brutal.
All people who play autistic folks do in fact have autism. That allows us to look inside their lives and understand it better what it takes to live with a personality disorder. They learn to endure shame and disappointment to live through.
This movie is definitely not for every audience but I enjoyed watching it with a mixture of warmth and sadness.
