Review of Katy Perry: Part of Me (2012) by Jon C — 06 Jul 2012
It's Katy Perry on the big screen :).
This documentary covers the beginnings of the pop artist's claim to fame and her rise to stardom.
It's a good thing that this movie isn't superficial and over-glamourized because Katy talks about her life the way she experienced it, fame isn't all cherry and roses we all know that.
She even sings new and familiar songs to heighten the enjoyment.
The editing is pretty clever here, it's magnificent technically, and it's very colorful to look at.
There are some occasional moments where the filmmakers tack on a few things but fans new and old will enjoy this character piece of a celebrity.
The ups, the downs, the surprises and the successes and failures.
