Review of Kate & Leopold (2001) by Cypresshill — 12 Apr 2016
Kate and Leopold is an ingenious, amusing and romantic movie. The movie has a brilliant fantasy plot that is unique, engrossing and the cast has perfect chemistry. The character Stuart in the movie finds a time portal that allows him to travel back to the late seventeenth century. He takes photos and he is observing Leopold because they are related. Leopold notices him and he follows him back to modern day New York. The movie then becomes hilarious because Leopold doesn't know how to act and live in modern society. He hasn't seen a TV, vehicles, razors, skateboards et cetera. In the movie Leopold is the inventor of the elevator although he is unaware of this since he doesn't invent the elevator till years after his encounter with Stuart. Leopold is going to wed a wealthy woman in his time because his family isn't wealthy. Also his uncle wants him to wed.
A woman who has a prominent family. Leopold falls for Meg Ryan's character and the movie has clever, amusing dialogue. In the epilogue Kate decides to live with Leopold in the 1700's after being convinced by.
Stuart. This is one of the wittiest, original movies of 2001.
