Review of Kaminey (2009) by Ashish M — 14 Aug 2009
I don't find the gangster theme appealing as a rule. Why do filmmakers find them so endlessfy fascinating, and treat them so extraordinarily well? Shahid Kapur was unrecognisable, I gave the chap who played Mikhail a slice of my heart but Priyanka Chopra, for me, was still Priyanka trying her damnedest and not Sweety.
Vishal Bharadwaj, I thought Dhan te tan was a punchy song, but seeing it on screen in psychedelic blues and reds was sheer trip. And the climax? That's what snorting cocaine must feel like, then.
