Review of Kalifornia (1993) by Andrew F — 21 Sep 2007
While I don't think that Michelle Forbes and David Duchovny really had any purpose in this film, I think that Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis probably did the most convincing performances as a desprete attached weak girlfriend and a rural reason-less psychopath.
Pitt really shows his talent in this one. However the filmmaking had only one peak in the film, the pan in between the walls scene while Forbes and Duchovny are making love to Pitt listening with his ear against the wall.
Almost Hitchcock-ian. Would never watch again, I would however watch that simple pan sequence again (perhaps multiple times) because it is pure genius.
