Review of Kalifornia (1993) by Jessie V — 10 May 2009
An entertaining thriller about a cross country serial killer transported by an unknowing couple writing a book on killers. This film had some really great scenes and had the potential to be far more than it accomplished. In the end it became a standard serial killer thriller.
The best thing the film offers is Brad Pitts performance as Early which was so psychotic and genuine. His best roles are roles where he just goes nuts at a character like this and pulls off memorable and scene stealing performances.
The end felt a bit weak and typical for something of the genre, nothing groundbreaking for amazing. It was a mildly entertaining film especially when Pitts onscreen.
