Review of Kagemusha (1980) by William H — 23 Jun 2007
Most director's work suffers as they age. Here, Kurosawa is like a fine wine, only making his stories more complex that his younger years (hard feat b/c his films never lacked complexity) as well as a director taking full advantage of all the possiblities that cinema has to offer.
Each show in the film feels like a painting brought to life.
