Review of Kagemusha (1980) by Arun J — 25 Mar 2012
I have only read of Kurosawa's imagery, attention to expression and the editing style. My first time on screen. This movie is about an imposter taking the place of a warlord on his untimely demise.
The expressions of each and every actors is captured precisely. The final war scene is shown as a series of expressions ranging from fear to horror and finally rage in the face of the lead character. I wasn't aware that minimalistic imagery could make a movie so elegant.
