Info: This film deals with typical city-born youth love story. A romantic comedy film is based on a nine minute short film of the same name and it is directed by Balaji Mohan who made debut as a director in Tamil with Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi 2012. It tells us the story of urban youth love that gets messed up for mere reasons. It was made in two languages simultaneously, in both Tamil and Telugu.

Story: The story opens with a lead role Arun (Siddharth) who is an engineering college student who shares his love experience to the audience. Arun and Parvathy (Amala Paul) who met in college and they apparently fall in love. After sometime later they break up. A misunderstanding and ego conflict causes them to separate and go in different directions. Further the film reveals the consequences between them through the journey of funny narrative structure. And finally it reveals how they get back together.

Performance: Direction, screenplay, performance, music score, and cinematography is just an average effort. A debutant director Balaji Mohan have done a good job, his narration is a different treatment and quite innovative to this industry, but after sometime especially the second half of the film turns into a dragging screenplay and narration struggle to maintain its own essence and also facing conflicts towards the encounter of the climax. So his different treatment becomes repetitious beyond a point. It will be better if he has been avoided these repetitions on screen. Particularly the essence of nine minute short film is got diluted by dragging it into two hours feature. A great disappointment from Nirav Shah's cinematography, it's just an average effort. The lead cast Siddharth and Amala Paul both have done a good job but their performance is obvious on screen. Their charming performance is overtake by the inexpert supporting cast who they have done a great job (especially Siddharth friends such as Vignesh (Vignesh) and Shiva (Arjun). The comical way of approach to characterization has made the film quite more interesting. And the character's personalities and their true nature is completley revealed in scenes. Only the supporting roles and their typical youngsters dialogue from the narrative, which has been the backbone of the success.

Result: Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi? Is a good romantic comedy / drama with emotional conflicts, love, ego, romance, funny moments, twists, sentiments, thoughts, friendship, etc. This film is quite an interesting to watch on screen, and it's worth watching.

Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi? : A Debutant Director's Good Attempt.
