Review of Kaboom (2010) by Ricardo Junior S — 05 Mar 2011
Strange mix of teen sex fantasy and apocalyptic thriller, "Kaboom" is an original and refreshing comedy about a young boy trying to discover his sexual preferences. There are moments when it doesn't make much sense, but director Gregg Araki's intriguing puzzle is an absolutely entertaining and crazy ride.
Comparisions with "Donnie Darko" are easy, but this independent festivals' hit brings a much more explicit message. Dekker is great with the leading role. Bennett and Temple are just irrestible as the two central female characters.
