Review of Kaboom (2010) by Paul P — 03 Feb 2013
Went into this with no expectations, came away quite surprised.
At face value and from the opening 30 mins I was not particularly getting what I was seeing - A bunch of pretty boys / girls in what looked like a more adult orientated 90210 with a wierd mystery chucked in for good measure. I am glad that I stuck with it as it became more engaging and darker and I then begun to get the film and I really enjoyed what Araki and co had put together.
The cast are fine, no real standouts, it was more about the mood and the anarchic tone which was grabbing my attention and the closing 20 mins or so where the wider plot points came together (some surprising, some not) I would definately consider myself a fan.
