Review of Kabluey (2007) by Joel J — 12 Nov 2008
Who the hell is Scott Prendergast? Should I know him? Am I embarrassing myself by asking that? Well, after seeing Kabluey, I'm definetly looking into his filmography and doing a little research. This off-the-wall (and sometimes dark) comedy about the fear and loneliness a family must endure when a parent goes off to fight a senseless war is not only hilarious but grippingly poignant. Lisa Kudrow just keeps making noticeable professional strides since the end of Friends, and Prendergast shines as the misanthrope that finds his heart as well as his way (cheesy, but true). The breathtaking Christine Taylor and a strangely odd (and overweight) Teri Garr top off the cast of this must see sleeper. Oh, and if all else fails, the giant blue Kabluey suit will laugh you into oblivion!
