Review of K-19: The Widowmaker (2002) by Michael G — 12 Mar 2011
Well I was curious about what movies Kathryn Bigelow did prior to "The Hurt Locker". If I didn't know I would have thought this was a production of her ex- James Cameron ("Titanic", "Avatar") because it is one of those flicks with big sweeping scores and a plethora of special effects.
Interesting story....good for a rental but not much more. Add a 1/4 star if you are interested in hearing one of the worst Russian accents (Harrison Ford) ever. Or Peter Sarsgaard who doesn't even try! Why in the world do they bother with that accent crap? In my humble opinion- either use the language with subtitles or just use English and we in the audience can figure out that "we aren't in Kansas anymore.
..." 3 stars.
