Review of K-19: The Widowmaker (2002) by Mark P — 26 Aug 2008
This film gets a bad rap.
It's not terrible by any means, and compared to some of the other "late era" Harrison ford films (Hollywood Homicide - BLEECH!) it holds up pretty well. Yeah accents are problematic, but not as much as, say Kevin Costner in Robin Hood: Prince of Theives.
Both Ford and Neeson are pretty well cast. The direction is solid, if not inspired. The main problem is, again, the accents...why can't anyone just make the "no accents" call? They'd all be speaking Russian -without accents - anyway!
