Review of Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015) by Kevin R — 08 Feb 2015
We're not like Gods and we're not like them.
Arthur lives as a drunk in a Maine lighthouse after the death of his father. He doesn't know his past beyond his life experiences with his father. One day some underwater troops from Atlantis arrive at his door, as well as a beautiful redhead (Meera) that claims he's the son of the lost city of Atlantis. Arthur and Meera take out the invaders from the deep with the help of the Justice League who quickly join them in trying to discover why underwater creatures are plaguing the east coast.
"We shall cleanse the surface.".
Ethan Spaulding, director of Batman: Assault on Arkham, Son of Batman, two Scooby-Doo movies (Camp Scare and Legend of the Pahntosaur), and episodes from the television series Avatar, delivers Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. The storyline for this picture is just okay and a far step down from the comic books (less action and intensity). The artwork was solid and the voices were well selected and include Rosario Dawson, Sean Astin, NathanFillion, Jason O'Mara, Matt Lanter, Shemar Moore, and Christopher Gorham.
"Leave him alone. We're talking.".
I am a huge DC comics fan and read this Aquaman/Justice League crossover written Geoff Johns. This was far less intense and action packed from the comics. This was an interesting way to rollout Aquaman and seemed rushed and not well put together; however, outside of Aquaman, the rest of the DC characters were awesome and fun to watch. I do recommend seeing this but it wasn't as good as the other DC pictures recently released.
"Go away or kill me.".
Grade: C+.
