Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Ryan J — 03 Feb 2008
Wow.
I was extremely excited to see this.
"The New Frontier" is easily one of the best graphic novels out there, and early footage and trailers for this made it look like an extremely faithful adaptation.
Instead, we get a horrendously rushed, incoherent mess of a movie with terrible animation - the story rushes from one quick story beat to another with no rhyme or reason.
Just because you've got blood and you use swear words doesn't automatically mean you're a mature animated feature - this could have been amazing.
I haven't seen Superman: Doomsday yet, but after Braniac Attacks and this, I just don't know. It used to be that Bruce Timm, et al. could do no wrong.
