Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Chad H — 02 Mar 2008
Awesome flick. I never read the Graphic Novel it is based on, but I still loved the story and the overall themes. The films star is unarguably Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, but Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman (voiced by Lucy Lawless no less) Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and so many other Justice League members are in effect. Either in co-starring roles or through some cool cameos. The animation was spectacular, I loved the way it merged Sixties style comic book visuals with state of the art modern animation. I wouldn't say it's perfect, I would have liked there to have been more superman and batman, and I would have liked the final battle to have been longer, with a few more super villains other than Mr Freeze, but it was still a great super hero film.
Oh, by the way, DON'T buy this for little children. Its got some INTENSE violence such as monsters being ripped in half, quite a lot of four letter words being used, and moments where the blood flows very freely.
