Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Gregory R — 02 Mar 2008
Readers' Digest version of the acclaimed DC miniseries has the heart of Cookes' ode to The Silver Age of superheroes, but unfortunately, not the look. Character designs and backdrops occassionally capture some of the pop art-istry of the comics, but mostly resemble Saturday morning standard issue.
Excellent voice-work and a rousing faux-JFK concluding speech won me over, though. But wouldn't it be great if DC (and Marvel) would spend some money on some truly eye-popping animation worthy of their respective legacies?
