Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Jason C — 02 Mar 2008
It was just okay, and there seemed to constantly be something missing throughout the entire film. I've never read the comic it was based on, so I may check that out and see if it fills in the blanks. The movie has a nice nostalgic feel to it, but that really doesn't do much for fans like me who prefer the newer material.
I have to mention this: I'm a big Batman fan, and have been for a long time now. The "darker" Batman is one of my favorite characters ever. He starts off that way in this movie... Then he scares a kid and redesigns his costume to be more kid-friendly, complete with weird upside down half-moon eyes on the cowl and fake eyebrows. I realize that it was taken directly from the comic and is meant to bridge the gap between the "Golden Age" and "Silver Age" Batman, but damn... He looked ridiculous, like he was ready to bust out the Batusi. Oh well...
