Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Ty A — 06 Mar 2008
This is a great animated movie. The animation is fantastic, and for the most part, the voice actors are terrific, too.
It's great to see the Silver Age done in modern context, but here's where the problem is. I don't think the translation from comic to film got that point across well enough. There are some improvements here, though, like the Centre which doesn't make too much sense in the comic. But I wish there were more build-up surrounding the McCarthy hearings and scare tactics of the 1950s.
Also...David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan? No.
Overall, a good adaptation of a time in comics that is far more important and relevant today than it was 50 years ago.
