Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Pete H — 30 Mar 2008
This movie is impressive for avoiding many of the pitfalls that have plagued animated comic book movies for years. It's not a kids movie; it doesn't try to make super heroes something they're not.
It's a period peace, dramatizing the transition into the so called Silver Age of comic storytelling in which characters like the Martian Manhunter, Flash, and the Green Lantern became prominent. It's more acessible to fans familiar with these character than it will be for none fans, but I see nothing wrong with that.
Comic fans are a big enough audience to rate movies made specifically for them, and the industry finally seems to be admitting it.
