Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Vijay M — 30 Apr 2008
Cool insight into the backstory of the formation of the Justice League of America, set in America during the Cold War. The animations and voice acting are wonderful. However, while the story is very interesting, I believe that action is something that should be very prominent in superhero movies. That being said, the first 50 minutes or so is entirely story. By the time the action really gets going, there is only about 15 minutes left in the movie.
And the villain? A giant floating alien mass that spawns mutant dinosaurs from its surface? Given that we're dealing with a superhero stuff I'm not going to rag on the fact that it could never happen, but it just seems...random. As fun as it was to see Martian Manhunter tear a Tyrannosaurus in half, the weird feeling could never be completely shaken off.
