Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) by Jay M — 22 Jul 2008
The Justice League : The New Frontier graphic novel series has been constantly praised by critics since it's inception and, though I have not read the series unfortnately, (this is EXTREMELY rare for me since I'm a rabid comic book fan) this film is a great sign of things to come.
The story behind The New Frontier is not completely unique, but its execution is just short of brilliant. The overall design of the film actually matches the time period and features costumes and scenery mirroring what they looked like in the 1950s era of paranoia.
My only concern with this flesh out design is actually the new modeling that remains more in line with Justice League animated series. I, being treated to art art from the source comic books, this change is understandable, but still underwhelming (especially since it wouldn't have taken much more effort to further implicate that stlye in animated form, as seen by the storybook-like introduction.
) Despite this complaint, the movie is still a visual treat along with its story, which is the real reason you'll stick around this time. The New Frontier actually somewhat rewrites some of the origins of your favorite heroes and opens up some of the dormant charcter traits from the past comic books.
The voice acting also does justice (no pun intended) to the League as well and shows a real dedication by the actors/actresses portraying the characters. THis film is just loads of fun, so make sure to pick this one up if you see it.
