Review of Justice League: Doom (2012) by Raheem H — 09 Jan 2013
Gaping holes in basic logic and a lack of imagination are the real enemies of this sleekly painted-by-numbers cartoon adaptation.
A pitch-perfect vocal cast that includes Kevin Conroy as Batman, Tim Daly as Superman and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern is wasted by a story that feels like something a dour boy dreamt up while playing with his action figures.
(Sooo the "perfect plan" to stop Wonder Woman was to have her...fight 'til she drops? Oookay. And I guess the Legion of Doom's wifi was down when a cyborg performed life-saving surgery on Superman on national TV, huh?).
At least when "The Incredibles" took up this big-missile-blow-up-world plot, it was with tongue firmly planted in cheek. "Justice League: Doom", on the other hand, is just dumb.
