Review of Justice League: Doom (2012) by Ryan V — 28 May 2013
Adapted from comics scripted by Mark Waid, the simple plot of this animated feature focuses on contingency plans Batman (Kevin Conroy) secretly created in case any superheroes in The Justice League ever decide to turn bad.
These plans are stolen by arch-villain Vandal Savage (Phil Morris) and are turned over to a squadron of the League's nastiest foes. A lesser team would've made this story into a bland superheroic yarn, but Justice League: Doom was written by Dwayne McDuffie, produced by Bruce Timm, and features voice talent such as Nathan Fillion, Tim Daly, and the cast of the well-regarded Justice League cartoon of the early 2000's.
The final product is a thrilling, fast-paced, and occasionally witty product of colorfully dynamic imagination.
