Review of Justice League Dark (2017) by Jon C — 19 Nov 2017
Another satisfying animated DC adventure.
Puts a new spin on the superhero teamup from before; instead of the Trinity it's now Batman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, and John Constantine of all things.
There's much more dark magic involved here as a sinister force is making people see their greatest fears.
Everything ties back to the time of Merlin and a sorcerer called Destiny holding that power conquering everything.
Someone else now plans to wield it and become the ultimate god.
Constantine doesn't have the best relations with the underworld plus he only had a casual relationship with Zatanna back in the past.
But they have to work together to track down the source of the nightmares.
Of course Batman makes a statement that magic doesn't have to solve every problem, it's usually more seeking answers from the streets.
This new team is very colorful and otherworldly which is a new change of pace that's always welcome.
The animation is amazing, too and the voice actors still haven't lost their touch.
Not the best JL installment but certainly engaging.
