Review of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (2010) by Letitia C — 14 Apr 2010
Superheroes strike back!
This is how I see this movie:
The good:
It is based on philosophical idea that every choice we make generates a new world. Our attention is focused on only two of this worlds - heroes from one are villains in the other.
If we look outside the box, I'd say this movie is a response to 'Watchmen'.
*This information might not be accurate* The actor playing Dr.Manhattan said that he thinks the Watchmen's director wanted to put an end to superhero movies.
There we have it: Some evil people from another world trying to destroy the everything, including the one we know it, the DC world...
The resemblance between Owlman with Nite Owl II and Superwoman with Silk Spectre II are too obvious. The United States winning the Vietnam war enhances the idea that Watchmen represents a parallel world.
The bad:
The soundtrack is nice only at the beginning and at the end. Should have used a better soundtrack for the rest of the movie.
Also you don't get that 'feel' you usually get from viewing a DC Comic movie.
Also, Batman looks a lot less aggressive.
