Review of Justice League (2017) by Casey A — 25 Jun 2018
(Non-Spoiler Review). Incredibly disappointing. Believe it or not, I was excited for his film. I thought Wonder Woman was pretty good (minus the third act) and I assumed that Dc was getting better. Turns out that I was wrong unfortunately. First of all, the cgi is god awful, and it doesn't help that the movie opens up with a shot of Superman and his awful cgi chin. Secondly, all of the new characters that were introduced felt incredibly underdeveloped. Their introductions were all swift and half-assed. Third of all, there are plenty of other errors, like there's one scene where Cyborg's self defense system suddenly goes off, but there has been no indication that Cyborg ever has this ability. It's also never used again. Another one is when Wonder Woman was seen moving faster than a speeding bullet to save civilians, but then she was as slow as a regular person in during the rest of the movie. Fourth, they made Superman too strong. Superman basically defeats the main villain by himself! What's even the point of the Justice League when Superman completely dominates everybody? Not to mention that Batman was completely useless in this movie. Lastly, the plot was generic. It was basically The Avengers plot, but a lot worse. Steppenwolf's motivations are generic, his army of throw away aliens are generic (at least Infinity War's throw away army was interesting, since they were literally killing the selves to get through a force field.
TL;DR: This movie had horrible cgi, forced introductions to the new characters, continuity errors, and making Superman seem like he doesn't need the Justice League.
