Review of Justice League (2017) by Thomas R — 13 Feb 2018

My LATE, LATE, Justice League Review (SPOLIER-FREE).

PROS:

1. The character designs were good (ONLY when it came to the heroes) Not mind-blowing but not bad either.

2. Compared to Suicide Squad, it's a LOT better in regards to being watchable.

3. It does end.

CONS:

1. The villain and his design were bloody atrocious. I'm sorry but if I can't remember his name HALF-WAY while I'm watching the movie and his design looks as if the ugliest monster you can think of from Dark Souls and Diablo had a baby and then turned the graphics down to PS1 quality (even saying it's PS1 quality is generous), then you know you have screwed up.

2. The CGI made me feel almost physically sick. This movie makes Wonder Woman's CGI look comparable to the CGI in the Planet Of The Ape Reboot Trilogy. This movie makes the Scorpion King in the Mummy 2 look photo-realistic. OH, I am NOT taking that back.

3. The tone of this movie is really, really bad. DC was trying so hard to be like marvel that in the end, it made Justice League look hilarious, in all the wrong ways. Suppressing laughter throughout the serious parts of this movie was almost impossible for me. Jokes didn't fall flat on their face in this movie because they did land... on a floor of razor sharp spikes.

4. Aquaman and Flash are as funny as the live action Smurfs movie. If you haven't seen the live action Smurfs, don't.

5. Superman can be better portrayed by a rock with an S carved into it.

6. "S" doesn't stand for "Hope". But I know one word it stands for which best describes this movie.

7. Although it's only 2 hours, it felt like more. A LOT MORE.

8. Every character in this movie (whether good or bad) has extremely unlikeable and unrealistic behaviour.

9. The story, the acting and the dialogue is so bad that a poorly-written fanfiction would have more to offer.

10. I can probably come up with more but these are the ones that came on top of my head and we would be here for a while if I tried to list every last thing wrong with this movie.

IN CONCLUSION:

DC's extended universe, in my eyes, has failed exponentially. Each movie get's worse and worse. Currently, there are 5 DCEU movies. 1 of which is actually good (Wonder Woman), 1 of which is OK but not brilliant(Man Of Steel) and then you have BvS, you have Suicide Squad and then you have this. DC needs to cancel the DCEU. I'm not saying they need to stop making movies entirely, what I'm saying is that they need to try going in the direction they went with before with the Dark Knight. Focus on making a good movie that can stand out on its own rather than a movie that is only there to reference and fore-shadow later movies. Hell, Wonder Woman proved they can do this really well so just go in that direction. If they take this route, it can lead to a brighter future for DC.

This movie get's an F. Hopefully my next review won't be about something as bad as this.
