Review of Justice League (2017) by Christo A — 09 Apr 2018
The Justice League had some pretty big shoes to fill, not because Marvel's Avengers 2012 pretty much defined the big screen superhero team-up, but because the Justice League were the first to do it in the comics.
Despite strong performances from Gadot, Affleck and Momoa, the result was slightly disappointing. The CGI on Cyborg looked cheap, Ezra Miller's portrayal of Barry Allen was awkward and the directing overall needed a little more work done.
DC's Arrowverse TV shows some how did the impossible by outshining the film universe on all grounds, especially Barry Allen. Ezra Miller was trying too hard to be funny, blame the script, but it wasn't working.
Also, considering how popular Grant Gustin has become in the Arrowverse's version of the The Flash, I don't see why the DCEU hasn't followed the MCU's steps in the inclusion of the TV shows.
In short, Ezra Miller's version of Barry Allen/The Flash can't catch up to Grant Gustin's Arrowverse version. And lastly, Superman's resurrection was predictable, so it should've happened earlier in the film, or even squeezed into the ending of Batman Vs Superman.
That being said, the visuals were mostly good, the action was excellent and that Batmobile was gorgeous!
