Review of Justice League (2017) by Anthea R — 30 Dec 2017
I enjoyed the movie. I think it suffered from the legacy of the previous films but set up the coming films well. I was really creeped out by the CGI on Henry Cavill's upper lip. Note to Warner Bros: negotiate with the other studio to make him wear a false moustache on the other film.
Fake moustaches look way more real than that CGI. I liked the concept of the scene where Aquaman sits on the lasso but would rather have had them leave out the creepy bit where he objectifies Wonder Woman.
They made him a real asshole, at this point I'm not all that interested in going to see the Aquaman movie. I genuinely think that it would've been better for them to scrap everything before now and start with the Batman origin story, then Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman before having them team up as the Justice League.
Then they wouldn't have to hastily cram in origin story-like content at the expense of the story. The big bad guy who they have to defeat to save the entirety of humanity was boring and forgettable.
If they'd had the whole movie to devote to the story maybe they could've at least had a villain that would warrant an entire team of super-humans and two hours of my life.
