Review of Justice League (2017) by Ittiaces — 25 Nov 2017
This movie was a pretty good effort overall. It's not on a par with the likes of Marvel and Wonder Woman is still the best DC movie so far in my opinion, but it has its charm. The pace is good, and the action keeps rolling so I wasn't bored.
As you'd expect from a modern superhero movie, it is saturated in slightly garish, over the top CG. Unfortunately, a lot of it looks like a PlayStation game, in particular, the main villain. Having a real actor in this role would have made a significant difference.
The cast does a good enough job, although I found Ben Affleck's Batman to be quite annoying. Some of the humour definitely fell flat, particularly the Flash jokes. They attempted comedy with Aquaman during a particular scene, and it was a bit cringeworthy.
Other than that it makes a decent hand of the storyline. I'm sure there's another one of these in the pipe so; hopefully, with a few tweaks, they can create a stellar film next time around. This one is definitely worth a look but could be better.
