Review of Justice League (2017) by Phillip H — 26 Nov 2017

I thoroughly enjoyed Justice League from start to finish. Apart from some of Whedon's comedy which falls flat, exactly as it did in 'Avengers Age of Ultron' I actually think Snyder & Whedon give us the best of both worlds.

There's still Snyder's beautiful visuals and tone but Whedon adds the parts that make you geek out, especially when it comes to Superman. We even get snippets of the John Williams Superman theme, what's not to like about that? The story whips along at a fair pace but never feels like it skimps, the return of Superman is also well handled and dare I say emotional.

There's only one or two scenes where you can clearly see the CGi on Cavil's moustache, so forget about this and enjoy the film. By far the worst part of the movie is the Stepenwolf CGI, there's zero lip syncing which is poor, especially considering the movie's budget.

All of the actors are excellent and no one lets the side down. Cavil is at his best and it'll be a crying shame if this is Affleck's last Batman outing. Gal Gadot owns the Wonder Woman role, as do the rest of the cast.

Justice League is the best DCEU film to date, & that includes Wonder Woman. Ignore the critics, their reviews were written before the movie came and go see the best super hero movie of the year.
