Review of Justice League (2017) by Mike B — 19 Dec 2017
For the tl;dr set:
-much better than the tomatometer reflects.
I'm a little disappointed(wholly in myself) for paying too much heed to the critics score and tomatometer here, and thus waited for this on disc.
While the complaints given in poor reviews are somewhat(and in cases, mostly) valid (poor villains, thin characterization, "poor" CGI, etc.) the film still stands as one of the best in the full DC catalog, going all the way back decades.
As seriously as I take my heroes(super and otherwise) the critics are misguided in reviewing what is essentially a 7 DECADE old franchise in the same way as more serious fare. Approach this film (and others like it) like a kid, and not like a Superfan or a Critic, and it's pretty good genre fare. I'm a Marvel guy, for the most part, and I found this film MUCH better than Many of the films in the MEU that received better ratings.
