Review of Justice League (2017) by Timw001 — 20 Nov 2017
Overall this movie is not good. But the individual scenes and characters work. The problem's of this film are in the direction and structure. Many scenes jump without warning, the plot ticks along with Macguffin's, and most of it feels extremely rushed. At one point the team needs to ensure that Steppenwolf does not get the third mother box, then suddenly he has it. And He doesn't even get it on screen. Good thing that happened or else the second half of the movie wouldn't have happened.
The villain was pretty plain. He had no interesting motivations and his weakness was being punched, very lucky for the Justice League because that's their greatest strength. I'm a massive DC fan, I've read all of the new 52, seen every episode of Justice League, JLU, and Batman Animated Series... And this was not a good movie. Some parts were good such as the action sequences, specifically when they were showing Steppenwolf's past (With a Green Lantern sighting), Superman being brought back to life, and the climax fight.
But overall probably don't waste your time and money.
