Review of Justice League (2017) by Richard J — 21 Nov 2017
I really enjoyed Justice League, but ai think that, like all films, there was room for improvement.
Spoilers.
For example, I think the final fight sequence would have been more compelling if WW was more equally matched with SW, and the alien, SW, outmatched or as equal with SM so that defeating SW could only be accomplished with full teamwork from the JL. Then, the audience could see how their abilities really complemented each other. However, I can see how the teamwork theme could have been seen as trite, but isn't teamwerk the point of the JL, stronger together.
My complaint about all of these fight sequence action movies, DC, Marvel and others, is that no super hero knows how to fight, It's all just unskilled brawling and poor fight choreography. Punching people in the face is not necessarily the best way to win a fight or subdue an opponent, and the repetitive face punches become boing. You'd think that normal-strength characters would especially need some serious fighting skills.
